You're Not Alone

Picture
Every day in our community someone loses their mate, their spouse, and their friend. You're not alone.
The people at Widowed Persons Service are people just like you. They know what it is like to face widowhood. They know the loneliness, the heart break, and the anxiety associated with the loss of a spouse. They have cried the tears.
Being widowed is not just for senior adults. Many younger people also face widowhood.  It can affect any married person at any age.
So, what do you do? Where do you turn? Might we suggest Widowed Persons Service.
Although each individual grieves in their own way, it's good to know you aren't alone.
When the time is right for you, call Widowed Persons Service.  We are here for you.

Widowhood

Are you a widowed individual who may be experiencing any of the following symptoms?
  • Feeling physically ill more often
  • A sense of anxiety
  • A change in eating habits
  • A change in your weight
  • Inability to remain focused or unable to make simple decisions
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • A repeated change in sleep patterns (sleeping less as night or sleeping more during the day)
  • Feeling of listlessness and a lack of energy
  • Easily angered and often irritable with family and friends
Richmond WPS Board President, Douglas Price
If you have answered 'Yes' to any of these questions, you are not alone. Each month nearly thirty local people become newly widowed persons, and nearly all will experience these symptoms in one form or another. Being widowed is not just a marital change, it's a life change - and these changes can occur in different ways to different people. No two people heal from the grieving process in the same manner.

As with any change in your physical structure, WPS advises you to first consult your physician or health care professional. Then, as you need assistance in understanding your grief, Widowed Persons Service is readily available to help you, listen to you, and walk with you through the loss of your spouse.

Although the journey through widowhood may appear to be endless to you, there is no need to travel alone.
We are here to walk with you...one step at a time.
